Language School Staff Celebrate Womens Role In Education
Female staff at award-winning language school, UIC Languages, have spoken out in favour of women holding more prominent positions in education.
(Press Release Service) The school’s principal, Claire Woollam, describes her biggest accomplishment so far as ‘beating off male competition to become Principal of UIC’ and is proud that UIC staff are 50 percent female. She describes a modern woman as being a ‘multi-tasker who can juggle working life with a family and still have her own interests and enjoy life’.
UIC Languages’ director of studies, Wendy Maitland, believes that women still suffer from gender discrimination. ‘Women, in some industries, have to work harder to get the same pay and work conditions as men,’ she says.
